Meghan Hayden, Waz Ashayer Look To Redefine Workouts in NYC

Meghan Hayden, a former Division I soccer player turned fitness coach, teams up with trainer Waz Ashayer to bring engaging and inclusive monthly coverage to the New York City fitness community Activity.

Hayden and Ashayer teamed up to form "rise x take off,” the campaign launched in June and has hosted events at Radio City, the Rockefeller Center Ice Rink and Hudson Yards.

Asayel Hayden’s next events will be Hyrox activations, including a drop-in training event on March 27th Working with Hyrox at Energi Fitness Studio in New York City. After that, the two plan to host Hyrox events at Pier 76 on the Hudson River in April and May. In September, Raise x Take Off will host an event on Intrepid.

Ashayer has experience hosting experiential fitness events through its brands in venues such as underground parking lots and helipads Improve LDNRaise x Take Off says it aims to promote community and inclusivity in the fitness world.

“‘It’s about building people’s confidence and empowering participants to incorporate fitness into their lives. Exercise is critical to health and it’s a lifestyle choice,” Ashayer, Equinox group fitness manager and Fiit trainer, told Athletech News. “There shouldn’t be any conditions for participating!”

Haydenis a fitness coach with over 100,000 Instagram followers and the founder of Take Off With Meg. He holds numerous fitness certifications and focuses on building strength and endurance while advocating for recovery and treatment to bring value to his clients.

During March 27th At the event, Ashayer and Hayden will lead Hyrox workouts using new Centr x Hyrox equipment. Hyrox has taken the fitness world by storm, creating functional strength and running competitions known as “fitathons.” Hyrox events are rapidly growing around the world and allow participants to compete in singles, doubles or four-person relay teams.

Hyrox founder and CEO Christian Toetzke told ATN that the brand plans to partner with gyms and fitness studios around the world to increase awareness. Toetzke believes Hyrox is a safer, more widely-participated fitness competition than more advanced activities like CrossFit.

Hyrox recently partnered with GiGi’s Playhouse, an international network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers, as its US charity partner.
