The New York-founded pickleball leader launches seasonal residence in West Palm Beach’s bustling CityPlace

CityPickle is an urban pickleball brand that recently received a significant minority investment from The Avenue Sports Fund, led by former Milwaukee Bucks owner Marc Lasry, and is expanding its footprint into Florida.

The pickleball leader will make a seasonal residency at CityPlace, a high-traffic shopping, dining and entertainment center. From this month until March 2025, CityPickle will operate 13 pitches and cabins adjacent to the pitches at the future development site.

The Pickleball pop-up will be open daily from 7am to 5pm, sun permitting. Reservations can be made online or through CityPickle’s app up to 7 days in advance. Seasonal memberships include benefits such as open games, early booking privileges and discounts.

“There is no better place to continue CityPickle’s expansion than at CityPlace in West Palm Beach, the entertainment, dining and cultural hub of this thriving community,” said CityPickle co-founder Mary Cannon.

CityPickle’s expansion into Florida is the result of a partnership with Related Ross, a mixed-use real estate and lifestyle company.

“We are excited to welcome CityPickle to West Palm Beach for the season,” said Jordan Rathlev, senior vice president of Related Ross. “Its debut in the heart of CityPlace, on the future site of 10 and 15 CityPlace at the core of the associated Ross Lifestyle A+ grade office building, with additional site work expected to begin in October 2024, reflects our continued commitment to innovation through to enhance community engagement programming. We believe these courts will provide an opportunity to inspire growth, teamwork and wellbeing within the local and wider community.”

Up north, CityPickle has made a name for itself since its debut in New York City, launching the first indoor pickleball club in Long Island City. The brand also operates 14 courts at the iconic Wollman Rink in Central Park, as well as seasonal openings at a number of iconic New York locations, including Hudson Yards and the Atlantic Terminal. In Pennsylvania, CityPickle has seasonal homes in Dilworth Park, Philadelphia.
