To celebrate the upcoming Olympics in Paris, fitness tech company Myzone is hosting an Olympic-themed challenge for fitness enthusiasts around the world.
this”MEP Medal ChallengeMyzone’s inaugural Olympic Challenge will take place from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, September 8. Regardless of experience level, fitness enthusiasts can join the community, track their performance using Myzone’s heart rate technology, and compete for a spot on the ‘podium’.
Myzone is a fitness tech company known for its heart rate tracking technology, which aims to encourage users to constantly challenge themselves physically and mentally. The brand provides software for gyms, including motivational class screens and fitness equipment, as well as popular apps that can be downloaded to smartwatches. Myzone also sells its own brand of heart rate monitors in the form of watches, scales and clothing.
As participants exercise using the Myzone tracker, they can collect Myzone Effort Points (also known as MEPs), which increase as their heart rate increases. The higher the heart rate, the more MEPs a user earns.
Myzone has hosted several events over the years, including the Capitol Hill Congressional Sports Event Challenge.
Dave Benham, owner of 300 Core Clubs in the UK, said the fitness company’s challenges were great for his members.
“The Myzone Challenge is always a hit in our club,” said Benham. “It’s a great way to bring our clients together, boost attendance and strengthen bonds. We all love testing our physical abilities and both the Myzone and the Myzone Challenge give us that extra edge to see how far we can go as a team.”
This summer and fall, Myzone is encouraging gyms with the brand’s equipment to promote the campaign to their members, suggesting forming teams to win as many MEPs as possible. Members with the highest average MEPs will receive a “podium spot” in homage to the Paris Olympics.
Myzone chief marketing officer Ben Hitchcock said the Olympic challenge reflects Myzone’s desire to encourage fitness enthusiasts around the world.
“Our ‘MEPs to Medals to Medals’ challenge captures the spirit of the Olympic Games, celebrating the countless ways people can achieve glory through exercise while highlighting the importance of community, teamwork and hard work,” said Hitchcock. “We hope to ignite the flame of passion and support clubs around the world in encouraging their communities to take on Olympic-level challenges.”
