Texas-based HVLP fitness chain has grown its membership 45% in the past two years and is flush with new growth capital
TruFit Athletic Clubs, a Texas-based high-value, low-price (HVLP) fitness chain, has opened its 40th club and fourth location in Tennessee to promote its “affordable luxury” club memberships qualifications.

The new TruFit Murfreesboro store features affordable amenities such as state-of-the-art equipment, fitness instructors, group fitness classes, turf fields, basketball courts, women-only fitness areas, childcare services, saunas, hydromassage and personalized wellness solutions . Virtual personal training is also available, and the TruFit app allows members to book group classes, track progress and consult on personal training plans.
In addition to providing family-friendly child care, TruFit Club promotes the health and wellness of older children and teens through low-impact, spine-free programming.
The HVLP brand offers tiered memberships (Basic, Essentials and Results+) starting at $10 per month. The company has 36 branches in Texas and four in Tennessee.
NewSpring Mezzanine, which invested subordinated debt and equity in TruFit Clubs last fall, noted that the fragmented gym market in smaller non-metro areas offers “ample opportunity” for TruFit.
“Through a data-driven approach to analyzing potential new markets, the company wisely identified the next geographic areas for expansion, and we are excited to help the business reach new levels of growth,” said Anne Vazquez, general partner at NewSpring Mezzanine.
Last month, TruFit announced the promotion of Aaron McFarland to chief operating officer. In a statement about his new role, McFarland noted that TruFit has experienced “explosive growth” over the past two years, increasing its membership by 45%.
