Life Time Deepens NASM Ties as Personal Training Soars

As demand for personal and small group coaching continues to grow, Life Time and NASM are giving fitness professionals the tools they need to navigate the new health landscape

Life Time has renewed its partnership with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) to provide its trainers and instructors with free access to the NASM ClubConnect platform, which offers continuing education courses, reduced certification and certificate rates, and exclusive access to workshops Chance.

The news comes as the job outlook for fitness coaches and instructors looks bright, with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicting job growth in the fitness training industry 14% By 2032, this will be significantly faster than the average for all occupations.

The luxury sports and country club operator is one of the largest employers in the training and group fitness industry, with more than 3,500 personal trainers, stretching specialists, Pilates instructors and more than 8,500 studio instructors.

According to NASM Vice President of Industry Development and Corporate Affairs David Van Daff, Life Time provides big opportunity and fitness employee benefits.

In recent years, mobile personal training and fitness franchises GymGuyz and Equinox have increased the number of trainers in response to demand. Zumba also supports the professional development of its coaches. The global dance fitness brand recently partnered with Noom to offer its Zumba instructors a way to become a Noom Mindset Coach and expand their network.

Personal training has become more than just a way for fitness clients to ensure accountability. Recent new survey results show that some of the most in-demand responsibilities of personal trainers are personal fitness coaching, strength training, muscle building, weight loss support, motivation, and mobility and mobility training.

For its part, NASM has launched two new courses to better equip personal trainers with the changing expectations of fitness consumers, one of which offers a health coaching simulation that provides real-time feedback from instructors.

NASM Also launched is NASM One, a membership for fitness professionals that provides helpful client management tools, unlimited access to business courses, more than 300 continuing education courses and webinars, and information on GLP-1, Supplement Evidence-based reviews on related topics such as pharmaceuticals and wearable devices.
