Manduka Launches Yoga Mat Recycling Program

The yoga mat leader launches an environmental initiative that allows yoga practitioners to use their aging mats to purchase new Manduka gear at a discount

Yoga gear leader Manduka has launched its first-ever yoga mat recycling program with SuperCircle, the textile recycling platform for top retail brands.

This environmental initiative is open for consumers to recycle any yoga mat (in any condition) at the following address: Manduka.Super Circle.Worldsend a mat with a prepaid label to receive a 20% discount on future Manduka purchases. The mats are then recycled into component parts rather than ending up in landfills.

Manduka CEO Pamela Levine said rising participation in yoga and meditation has led to demand for more sustainable practices in the yoga retail space.

Yoga mats that cannot be recycled individually will be open-loop recycled into upcycling or downcycling programs and become items such as rubber mats and resurfacing materials for new construction projects.
