Padel Haus Heads to Atlanta in Latest Expansion Move

The brand currently has seven stores open or about to open, and hopes are growing that padel will follow in the footsteps of pickleball and become the next popular racket sport

Padel Haus is coming to Atlanta, announcing plans to open a club in Georgia’s capital as the padel brand continues to expand outside of New York City.

Founded in 2022, Padel House There are currently three clubs open, all in Brooklyn (Williamsburg, Domino Park, and Dumbo), with plans for a club in Greenpoint and more to come in Nashville, Tennessee, and Denver, Colorado.

The Atlanta club will be the seventh location of Padel Haus and is expected to open in early 2025. It will be the first dedicated padel club in Atlanta.

The 24,500-square-foot facility is located at Westside Paper, a mixed-use facility converted from a former manufacturing plant in West Midtown Atlanta.

Padel Haus Atlanta will feature six courts, including a center court for international competitions, and 40-foot ceilings. Other amenities include a juice bar, premium locker rooms with showers, a pro shop and the Padel Haus Academy, which will offer padel instruction.

Next pickleball game?

Since launching in 2022, Padel Haus has rapidly expanded its portfolio of clubs as demand for racquet sports has surged nationwide. Last year, the brand raised $7.5 million in a Series A round to fuel its expansion.

Padel Haus and its investors believe padel will follow in the footsteps of pickleball, which has become a national phenomenon as brands such as Life Time race to open courts across the country.

Padel tennis has some similarities to pickleball, but it is more closely related to other racket sports.

Padel tennis was born in Mexico in the 1960s and is essentially a combination of tennis and squash. It uses the same scoring system as tennis, but the court is significantly smaller and the ball is played against a plexiglass wall surrounding the court, similar to squash.

Padel tennis is usually played in doubles, which adds to the social aspect of the sport and contributes to its development.

According to Padel Haus, “Padel is more dynamic than pickleball due to the surface area and nature of the game”.

Padel Ball Demand Analysis

In recent years, padel tennis has experienced impressive growth around the world – in 2016, there were approximately 10,000 courts worldwide. By 2023, the number of courts will exceed 40,000. Expected to grow to 70,000 By 2026.

Around 25 million people play paddle tennis in more than 90 countries around the world. Spain is by far the most paddle-obsessed country. 5.5 million participants expectedItaly is second with a population of about 1.5 million.

By comparison, the United States has about 90,000 players.

However, there are signs that the padel market is growing in the U.S. According to The Padel State, as of this summer, 15 states have multiple padel clubs.

Last year, the Professional Pitch League (PPL) was established, becoming the first professional cricket league in North America. New York Yankees and LA Galaxy Investment has been made in padel courts and matches.
