Peloton partners with Amazon so members don’t miss a page
Peloton, which is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter earnings this week, has partnered with Amazon so that Peloton users can immerse themselves in a Kindle e-book while exercising.
Members can access their Kindle library through the Entertainment tab to enjoy a full-screen experience on a Peloton Bike, Bike+, Tread or Tread+. This new feature is available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Austria and Germany.
Amazon is launching 10 books to celebrate its partnership with Peloton suggestion – Some of them are written by famous Peloton trainers.
This is the latest crossover for the fitness giant, which is exploring new ways to enhance the member experience after some of its top trainers chose to leave the company to pursue new opportunities.
This summer, Peloton announced its next phase of growth, adjusting production schedules at Peloton Studios in New York and London and reducing live classes in favor of developing new classes centered around strength and cross-modal training and gyms. Peloton Chief Content Officer Jen Cotter said some health verticals may also be launched in the future.
Recently, Peloton and Fitbit announced a global, multi-year content distribution agreement that will give Fitbit Premium users in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia access to Peloton workouts starting in September. Fitbit users will have access to a select group of Peloton classes without a premium subscription.
Peloton, once a pandemic darling, secured more than $1 billion in new credit this spring as a “whole-house refinancing” measure to reduce debt and support its future growth. Peloton is still searching for a new CEO after Barry McCarthy left in May.
