PickleRage Opens Florida & Maryland Indoor Pickleball Clubs

The two new indoor pickleball clubs are part of a wider plan by PickleRage to open more than 500 clubs by 2029 following a deal with a private equity firm

PickleRage plans to open two new indoor pickleball clubs in Glen Burnie, Maryland, and Jacksonville, Florida, to serve the needs of the beloved sport, which even has a deal with QVC.

PickleRage will host a VIP party at Glen Burnie on December 5th, providing an exclusive preview of the indoor club. A soft opening is scheduled for December 6-8, during which community members will have free access to the courthouse. Regular operations will begin Dec. 9, with a grand opening planned for Jan. 17-18. The event will include a ribbon cutting, live music, vendors and various activities.

Meanwhile, PickleRage Jacksonville will kick off its opening with a two-day grand opening event on January 3-4. Festivities include open-air games, vendors and entertainment to mark the occasion.

Since its founding last year by a group of pickleball enthusiasts, PickleRage has quickly risen to the top of the indoor pickleball franchise scene. The concession features CushionX edge courts, the same joint-friendly surface used by U.S. Open pros, as well as LED lighting, in-club game enhancement technology to help players improve their skills, and an advanced reservation system.

“We are excited to bring state-of-the-art PickleRage facilities to Jacksonville and Glen Burnie,” said David Smith, Chief Operating Officer of PickleRage. “These new locations mark an important step in our expansion efforts as we prepare to enter Florida and Maryland for the first time.” A major milestone in providing a dedicated space where pickleball enthusiasts of all levels can connect, compete and develop a sense of community. We are committed to creating a vibrant, accessible center where people can enjoy the game and build lasting connections, and we look forward to it. Players from these areas are welcome.”

The new locations further cap a positive year for the indoor pickleball franchise, which plans to open more than 200 locations across the U.S. over the next two years following a recent agreement with private equity group GreenPeak Venture Partners. The franchisor intends to target cities in Ohio, Georgia, Illinois, Florida, Texas, North Carolina and Tennessee. In the long term, PickleRage plans to open more than 500 stores by 2029.

Jared Feldman, managing principal at GreenPeak Venture Partners, said last month: “We are very pleased with the progress PickleRage has made to date and are deeply committed to leveraging our resources to help them succeed ”
