Planet Fitness ‘Flexing for Good’

Planet Fitness franchisees and team members have volunteered approximately 800 hours to various nonprofits, food banks and hospitals

Planet Fitness is reflecting on its successful Flexing for Good volunteer program, an impactful annual event where the fitness giant invites Planet Fitness team members and franchisees to support their local communities.

Flexing for Good has provided approximately 800 hours of in-person and virtual volunteer service to nonprofits such as Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Blue Ocean Conservancy, Habitat for Humanity, Hire Heroes USA, Special Olympics and more. Local food banks and hospitals.

Many Planet Fitness locations also host in-club donation drives to benefit the fitness franchisee’s national nonprofit partners, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and other local organizations.

“At Planet Fitness, providing fitness opportunities and ensuring everyone feels welcome and supported in our clubs and communities is core to our brand proposition,” said McCall Gosselin, chief corporate affairs officer. “Our annual ‘Flexing for Good’ volunteer program provides team members with the opportunity to give back to the communities we serve, and we are excited to invite our franchisees and their teams to join us in the program this year.”

Since partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 2016, the fitness franchise has donated more than $9.5 million.

Planet Fitness also hosts the Boys & Girls Clubs of America annual fundraiser at all clubs across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and through PF gives.

“The Planet Fitness team’s recent visit to our Greater Salem location was an incredible experience for everyone in our organization, and most importantly, the kids we serve in our community,” said Dace said Marco Abreu, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Lem. “The energy and enthusiasm their team brought to our club that day was inspiring and perfectly aligned with our shared values that health and wellness are an important part of children’s physical, mental and emotional development. We are extremely grateful to Planet Fitness and their team at positive impact during the visit.”

Planet Fitness, currently led by CEO Colleen Keating, who came on board earlier this year, is expected to release its third-quarter earnings report in early November. In August, Keating shared with investors her view that planet fitness could double its domestic footprint to about 5,000 locations, surpassing the 4,000-location target set during its 2015 IPO.
